I knew nothing about Trust Companies until I met Sara. A lawyer, mother, wife and sister, Sara is the President and CEO of MD Private Trust Company. Sara joined MD Financial Management in 2014 to assume the role of President and Chief Executive Officer of MD Private Trust Company, and National Lead for the Estate and Trust business. Sara began
her career as an estate and trust lawyer in downtown Toronto, leaving private practice in 1994 to join the Bank of Montreal (BMO). At BMO Sara continued her trust and estate focus providing estate planning for clients of the Private Bank. During her 20 years at BMO, Sara’s responsibilities grew to include management of the Trust Services unit in the Toronto Market as well as the Wealth Planning team. In 2009 Sara was promoted to Chief Executive Officer of BMO Trust Company, and Vice President and National Director of the Wealth Planning and Trust Services line business for BMO Harris Private Banking. Sara is a member of the Trust and Estates Section of the Ontario Bar Association as well as the
Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners.
